Thomas Hayduk Obituary

Thomas F. Hayduk passed away unexpectedly at home. Preceded in death by parents Frank and Martha (Kasay) Hayduk, niece Gail (George) Henry, and nephew William J. Zett III. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Catherine (Zett), sister Joann (Charles George), nephew Gary and niece Charlene. Also sisters-in-law Barbara A Zett, Judy Freedman (Paul) and brothers-in-law Bill Zett (Barbara J. Majerski), and David Zett (Cris Beatty), niece Chris Gorschak (Frank), nephew Bob Fellows, and niece Bethann Goller (Brandon).  Also survived by dear friends Larry and Lori Lechak.

Tom was a wonderful husband and provider. He had an inquisitive mind that allowed him to accomplish many things including building a home on Benshoff Hill with a barn for our horses. He loved hay making season with its challenges and rewards and was able to keep our vintage equipment running. He was privileged to have good friends and family who helped him accomplish his projects. He enjoyed riding and camping at the Greater Johnstown Saddle Club where he was a member for 38 years. Other interests through the years were off-roading and boating. He started working at an early age at S&R Sales in Cambria City and stayed on as the business changed to Consolidated Vending, then Bittner Vending where he was Operations Manager. He retired in 2018.

Tom will be sorely missed by his four footed friends: cats Rosie and Ezzie and horses Bella, Holly and Taffy. He came to love living in the country with all the critters on the little piece of paradise he helped to create. Friends will be received from 1 – 4 p.m. Saturday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Fr. Bernard Karmanocky officiating. Interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery at a later date.
