HAYNAL - Thomas S. Sr., 70; West Taylor Twp., passed away after a 2 1/2 year long battle with cancer, on September 16, 2023. Born May 6, 1953 in Johnstown, son of Louis and Josephine (Golob) Haynal. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Robert Haynal. He is survived by loving wife, of 50 years, Renee (Rausch) Haynal, Johnstown; sons, Thomas Haynal Jr. and wife Wendy, Johnstown; Shawn Haynal and wife Susan, Armagh; and Mark Haynal of Johnstown; and grandchildren, Ava Rose, Mia Jade and Nathan. A brother of Ronald Haynal and wife Christie of Johnstown. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was a family man, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. A former employee for Bethlehem Steel Corp. Open Hearth Division. Retired Clerk for the United States Postal Service with 35 years as a federal employee. Tom was an avid golfer, outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing, and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street where funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. the Rev. Bernard Karmanocky OFM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in his memory.
