Vincent Edward Petak

PETAK – Vincent Edward, 55, of Johnstown died May 12, 2019, at home. Born July 10, 1963, in Johnstown the son of Edward J. “Frog” and Georgiann (Fesko) Petak. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother; brothers and sisters: Gerianne, (Leonard) Sabato, Springfield, PA; Gary, (Jean York), Littleton, CO; Maribeth, (Ernest) McClelland, Pittsburgh; Rosanne, (Patrick) Beckerle, State College, PA; Jacqueline, (Mark) Pavlosky, Castle Rock, CO; Richard, (Toni Cislo) Johnstown, PA; Aileen, (John) McDermott, Apollo, PA; Pamela (Scott) Dingman, Raleigh, NC; Melissa, (Steve) Reynolds, Reisterstown, MD; and Joseph, (Tammy Roles), Johnstown. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vincent was a 1981 graduate of VoTech High School and retired from PennDOT with 30 years of service. He was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penn State Football. For years he flew the Penn State flag proudly at The Petak Tailgate spot and countless nieces and nephews knew where to find Uncle Vince. In his retirement years he enjoyed his Harley trips to Sturgis, Daytona, our own Thunder in the Valley and weeks-long rides with cousin Larry and friends to as many states as they could visit. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad St. where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Franciscan Friars OFM, Conv.
