Virginia "Gin" Walkowsky

WALKOWSKY - Virginia “Gin” (Mlinar) 86; Johnstown, passed away on December 20, 2024. Born November 11, 1938 in Johnstown, daughter of Michael and Ann (Kamerosky) Mlinar.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, John J. Walkowsky; daughter Kathleen; brother, “Wild Bill” Mlinar and Donna; sister, Joan Orosz; and Godmother, Mary Lacko.  Survived by children, Bernard and wife Mona; Theresa Oreskovich; Francine Haynal; Leonard and wife Carol (Orosz); Janice Petak; Patricia Heilmann and Kevin Collins; and Rebecca Mains and husband Daniel; and 14 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and  10 great grandchildren.  A sister of Judy Sierocky and husband John; and God-daughter, Gina (Orosz) Graffius.  A former member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and member of the Ladies Guild, Nocturnal Adoration Society, Eucharistic Minister and active in many church events, fish fries and festivals.  Now a member of Resurrection Parish.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to luncheons with her cancer survivor’s group and going to the cascino and playing BINGO.  Friends received on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.  Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Parish, the Rev. George M. Gulash.  Private committal will be held at St. Casimir Cemetery at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joyce Murtha Breast Cancer Center in memory of Virginia Walkowsky.  The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers from, West End Ambulance, Lower Yoder Vol. Fire Co., Conemaugh Hospital, Heritage Senior Care and Pinnacle Hospice Care, for their compassionate care.  Condolences may be sent at fgozogfuneralhome.com
