RYBA - Walter Anthony, 66, Johnstown, passed away peacefully May 8, 2026. Born June 19, 1959, son of Walter Joseph and Rosella Ryba. Proceeded in death by his father. Survived by mother; sisters – Barbara (Ralph Varmecky), Sharon (Raymond Strednak), Elizabeth, Rose (Joseph Slis), Christine (Eric Allen); brothers – Br. Robert O.CARM, Matthew (Andrea Zuccolotto); nieces – Stacy (Kurt Roberts), Amy (Anthony Haer), Kendra Slis, Rebecca (Christopher Horten), Lauren (Luke Smith), Heather (Kellen Snell); nephews – Brian Varmecky, Andrew Zajdel, Jacob Allen, Zachary Slis, Evan Allen; great nieces and nephews – Isaac and Sophia Roberts, Laurel and Oliver Snell; a great niece expected in August; friends – Jeff, Sandy, and Scott Janoschak; uncle - John Ryba; aunts – Margaret Sutor, Helen Tomechak; cousins and families. 1977 graduate of Johnstown Vo-Tech. Walter loved sports, especially hockey and baseball. Worked in construction with Community Builders. Friends will be received Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
