William Hewitt

HEWITT - William, 72; Johnstown, passed away on June 11, 2022 at home.  Born July 28, 1949 in Johnstown, son of Russell and Mary (Mosholder) Hewitt.  Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Russell and James Hewitt. Last survivor of his immediate family.  Survived by loving wife, Nancy (Kyle) Hewitt; children, Cheryl Ward and husband, Robert: and Matthew Hewitt and girlfriend, Miranda; grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, William, Joshua; Abigail and Agnes; and great grandchildren, Emerson, Elijah and Lydia.  Also survived by step children, Tammy Ressler and husband Brian, Sherry Strashensky and Lisa Horner and husband John; step grandchildren, Samantha and Michael; Cody and Kyle; and step great grandchildren, McAlistar and Temperance, and sisters-in-law, Sara and Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.  Bill was retired Motor repairman for Allegheny Manufacturing and Electrical Service, (formerly Westinghouse), and a member if the IBEW Local 495.  He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed working on vehicles. He was also an accomplished woodworker and he loved making gifts for his family, including handmade cradles and hobby horses.  Friends received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either, Alzheimer’s Association, Parkinson’s Research or to the American Diabetes Association, in his memory.
