William J. Mikesic

MIKESIC - William J., 95; Johnstown, passed away at home on October 19, 2021.  Born March 10, 1926 in Johnstown, son of Ivan and Rose (Baich) Mikesic.  Preceded in death by parents; beloved wife, Frances (Konik) Mikesic; daughter, Sharon Popchak; brothers, Joseph, Edward, Steven and Francis Mikesic; and sisters, Josephine Nicholes, Mildred Polacek, Ann Mikesic, Mary Vernalli and Helen Smith.  Last survivor of his immediate family.  Survived by daughter, Deborah, wife of William Kelly, Johnstown; and Gerald, married to Christine (Mitchell) Greensburg; grandchildren: Jessica Kelly; Beth Kelly and companion Ian McCreary; and Jennifer (Kelly), wife of Justin Rozwat; great-grandsons Ethan and Lucas Rozwat; son-in-law, Raymond Popchak, Johnstown.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank; Tim and Jodi, Jim and Sue from the neighborhood; Michele from Good Sam 6; the staff at Interim Hospice, Jenna, Kathy, Tabitha, Heidi; Josh from Palliative Care; and Patty from Allegheny Social Ministries.  Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired BRW Division of Bethlehem Steel Corp.  A lifelong member of the former St. Rochus Catholic Church. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Bernard Karmonocky, OFM. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery, where VFW Post 155 Ritual Team will hold honors.  Friends received Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Francis G.
