PEKICH – Dorothy, 98, of Johnstown, died January 19, 2018, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born December 17, 1919, in Johnstown the daughter of George and Milica (Kunich) Piljay. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eli Pekich, Sr.; brothers: Michael “Kobe”, Joseph “Boz”, Edward and James Piljay; and sisters: Stanka Piljay; and Anna Tobakas. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her loving children: Eli, Jr., and wife Irina Mikityanskaya; and Darnella, wife of Joseph Parker; grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Chloe, Elle; and great-grandchildren: Saul, Isaac, Hunter and Hadley. Dorothy worked at the National Radiator Company during WWII where she welded airplane parts for the war. She was also employed at: the Cookie Jar, Deroy’s, Glosser Bros., and Raleighs Department Store in Washington D.C. She was a hard-working and loving mother and grandmother who had endless energy for her family. During retirement she enjoyed walking, playing cards with her friends and baking cookies. Friends will be received Monday from 2-6 p.m.at the FRANCIS G. OZOG FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 710 Broad St. where Pomen will be sung at 2 p.m. A prayer service will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Fr.
